THE CATENIAN ARTS TRAVEL PRIZE
Annual Value: $2,000 commencing 2022
The Australian National Council of the Catenian Association donates $2,000 annually for 5 years bringing the total for the Prize to $10,000.
The ANC Prize will consist of an annual travel prize (in the amount of $A2,000 over five years from 2022) for School of Arts students undertaking ACU’s international core program in Rome, Italy. The students must complete a unit in International Social Justice during their time in Rome.
Eligibility Requirements
The Catenian Association Arts Travel Prize will be awarded annually to one high-achieving student enrolled in a degree offered by ACU’s School of Arts. The recipient must be eligible to enrol in the core curriculum unit UNCC300 in Rome or other international core program locations. In accepting the prize, students formally acknowledge the requirement to prepare and deliver a written report about their experience overseas for The Australian National Council of the Catenian Association. Prize recipients will be guaranteed a place in the international core program of their choice in the subsequent year.
Selection Criteria – Standard
– Arts student with GPA 4.5 or above
– Student eligible to enrol in Social Justice unit
– Priority will be given to the Rome campus offering of the unit
– Priority will be given to a student who is not a recipient of another externally funded scholarship
– A written statement, maximum of 200 words, must be provided outlining how the experience would support the applicant’s growth and connection to ACU Mission and Core Principles.

Congratulations to Kathryn Palmer winner of the inaugural
Catenian Association Arts Travel Prize
Kathryn Palmer was enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) at the Strathfield campus of ACU.
In congratulating Kathryn on her award, the Australian National President of the Catenian Association, Ralph Fitzpatrick, said that an important Association Aim was to advance the interests of young Catholics. “By supporting Kathryn with this Travel Prize as she participates in the Universities International Core Programme we not only progress an Association Aim, but also enhance her opportunities to realise the Programme’s potential for personal and spiritual growth.”, he said.
