Father Sheldon Burke was a recipient of a grant from the Youth Support Fund.

Father Sheldon Burke was born in Perth and now based in Sydney, was ordained at St Mary’s Cathedral in Perth on 17 June 2023. In November 2012 a young Sheldon received a grant from the Province 20 Youth Support Project to attend a Youth Leaders Formation Course hosted by the Archdiocese of Sydney. This course was a unique opportunity for a small group of young people to live in community together for one month and engage in spiritual, pastoral, intellectual, and human formation. Participants explored a range of themes including evangelisation, leadership, faith, life and love.
Sheldon comments: it was in this course that I was exposed to the religious life with speakers coming from many different religious orders that I had previously never had the privilege of being a recipient of their witness. It was a time of immense spiritual growth for me and a time in which the seed that our Lord had planted in my heart of a vocation to religious life began to grow slowly.
Throughout his journey towards a vocation in religious life, Sheldon has often acknowledged the support given to him by the Catenian Association both financially and with their prayers and encouragement.
