Congratulations Brother Olly.

The Catenian Association congratulates Christian Brother Thomas Oliver (Olly) Pickett who has been named the 2025 Senior Australian of the Year. Br Olly co-founded Wheelchairs For Kids in 1996 where they manufacture and distribute wheelchairs to children in 80 countries.

Some Western Australian Catenians are among the dedicated team of volunteers who produce the wheelchairs at the Wangara factory in Perth under the expert guidance of Factory Manager Br Olly. Approximately 300 wheelchairs are produced per month at a cost of just $275 each. The wheelchairs are lightweight and fully adjustable to each child’s size and disability.

We have been fortunate to have Brother Olly as a guest speaker at some of our Catenian meetings and dinners. He was also the guest speaker at the gala dinner to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Catenian Association in Western Australia.
