A wonderful Mass for the Feast of Corpus Christi at St Mary’s Cathedral Sunday 7th June.
Catenians carrying the Catenian banner were invited to participate in the annual Corpus Christi procession at St Mary’s cathedral – two brothers to carry the banner and one brother to help carry the canopy which covered the blessed sacrament during the procession.
Transition to the procession occurred after communion. The processionl formed up in the centre aisle of the church and then processed out the front door and around the church. The banners formed up behind the clergy.T
he procession was conducted at a slow walk around the cathedral complex. After processing around the church, the procession stopped in front of an altar outside the front door of the church where the blessed sacrament was placed. Everyone will knelt in front of it for a period of time and this was followed by Benediction.
The Catenians who attended were moved and impressed by the experience, especially enjoying seeing the Catenian banner and Catenian brothers and wives in the procession. It was a special day for all who attended.
