Adelaide City circle Brother Rennie Louis has many talents.
This story highlights the achievements of one of our younger Catenian Brothers. We often acknowledge the achievements of a special long serving Brother, but in this case, I must share with you a little about Rennie Louis’ life since he joined the new Adelaide City Circle, when it was inaugurated in 2022. He was then 24 years old and became the first Chamberlain for the Adelaide City Circle.
He visited Perth several times and attended several Circle meetings and major functions. Several years later at the age of 27 he was elected President of the Adelaide City Circle. At that time, he was acknowledged as the youngest President within the Catenian Association.

Rennie was born on the 7 March 1997 in Bangalore, India. Rennie’s life changed significantly when his family migrated to Australia in 2006. At just nine years old, he arrived in Adelaide with his parents and younger sister, beginning a new chapter in a country that would eventually become home.

Like many migrant families, the transition required adaptation, patience, and determination. While learning to navigate a new culture and environment, Rennie remained deeply connected to the values that shaped him during his early years. His family played a vital role in teaching him the importance of faith, education, and hard work—principles that continue to guide him today.
Outside his professional career, Rennie has also devoted significant time to faith-based leadership within the Catenian Association and community service.
With these developed leadership skills, he focused on engaging younger generations, strengthening membership growth, and encouraging active participation within the Catholic community. His efforts contributed to the continued success of the Adelaide North Group, which received recognition through the prestigious Kevin Brady Award for outstanding membership growth. His commitment to faith remains one of the defining aspects of his life and continues to influence both his leadership philosophy and personal values.

Apart from his family and Catenian commitments, after his schooling, Rennie completed a Bachelor of Business degree specialising in Information Technology Strategy and Management at the University of South Australia. His work career has progressed to now being appointed as a Director within the Australian Defence industry. His skills have developed into contributing to strategic technology initiatives that support national capability with secure digital infrastructure and security for the Australian community.
From a young age, Cricket was more than just a sport to Rennie. While other children spent their time with toys, he was often seen carrying a cricket bat and dreaming of one day playing at the highest level.

His dedication led him through South Australia’s cricket pathways, where he represented the state at junior levels and developed into a talented fast bowler. He later played district cricket for Port Adelaide Cricket Club and continued his cricket journey with Ingle Farm Cricket Club.
Although he never became an international player, cricket opened extraordinary doors. Through the South Australian Cricket Association, Rennie was selected as a net bowler for international cricket teams touring Adelaide. Over the years, he has bowled to some of the biggest names in world cricket, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Steve Smith, David Warner, Joe Root, Jos Buttler, Glenn Maxwell, and many others.
A recent trip to India unexpectedly accelerated this journey. Rennie travelled to India to surprise his grandmother for her 75th birthday, creating a special family memory that he will cherish forever. The timing of the trip coincided with Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) Indian Premier League campaign, providing an opportunity to follow his beloved team throughout the playoffs and final. As he documented the experience through videos and social media updates, his content began gaining significant traction. Cricket fans across India connected with his enthusiasm, authenticity, and passion for RCB. Within a short period, his audience grew dramatically, transforming a personal hobby into an international platform. For an Adelaide local, the experience of building a large Indian following almost overnight was both surprising and humbling. It reinforced his belief that sport has a unique ability to unite people regardless of geography or background.
Rennie considers his faith to be the foundation of everything he does. His Catholic beliefs influence how he approaches challenges, treats others, and measures success.Rather than focusing solely on professional accomplishments, he believes a meaningful life is built through service, gratitude, and positive impact.
One of his long-term goals is to use his platform to help younger generations strengthen their faith and discover a sense of purpose in an increasingly complex world.Through content creation, mentoring, and community involvement, he hopes to encourage others to pursue excellence while remaining grounded in strong values.
In conclusion, Rennie is only 29 years of age and has achieved much and has the strength and values and through hard work will further develop his faith, career and skills. He is a fine example of a developing and inspiration leader in the younger generation, and I wish him all the best in the future.
