Annual Province 21 Memorial Mass and Supper- a Super evening
Over 50 Catenians, their wives, friends and clergy gathered, with a full capacity congregation, at the Mary MacKillop Memorial Chapel, North Sydney, for the livestreamed Annual Province 21 Memorial Mass on August 12, the Feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop in the160th Anniversary year of her founding of the Congregation of the Sisters of St Joseph.
Celebrant, Fr Anthony Casamento CSMA, Superior of the Pacific Vice Province of the Congregation of St Michael the Archangel, with Deacon Rev Robert Tonkli, was preceded in the Entrance Procession by Acolyte Robbie Matchett, Bro Luke Lamb bearing the Icon of the Saint and Floral Tribute bearer Kerrie Hannan, representing Harbourside North Circle; together with Province Officers and their wives, including Bros John Tweedie who placed the Province Memorial Book on the Altar, with Pamela, Graham and Ann Short, Malcolm and Karen McEwen, Paul and Robyn Day, Geoff Young and Province President Ken Daniels and Carmel.
The “Two Wolves” choir, from at Our Lady of the Way Parish, North Sydney, led the enthusiastic singing of rousing hymns, accompanied by Sr Kerrie Cusack rosj, on the organ.

At the conclusion of Mass, Rosary beads were blessed by Rev Tonkli, and, after the Recessional, the Catenian cohort gathered at the Altar for the presentation of a donation to the Head of Congregation, Sr Josephine Dubiel rsj, on behalf of the Australian National Council by National Treasurer. The floral tribute was then moved from the Sanctuary to St Mary MacKillop’s tomb and a Group photo taken.

Attendees from all Sydney Province 21 Circles then adjourned to Club Bradley, in Mosman, for supper and drinks and the opportunity to mix, mingle and catch up.
