THE CATHOLIC MAN SERIES – SECOND TALK
The first presentation of the second talk being “Authority, Responsibility and the Protection of Life” was held by the Adelaide North Group on Thursday the 3rd September at St Annes Church in Elizabeth Catholic Parish in Adelaide.
The committee had organised an effective marketing strategy over the two weeks prior to the talk by distribution of posters, flyers, church announcements and advertising to increase public awareness of the talk and also of the Catenian Association in Adelaide. In total sixteen guests attended and nine were repeat attendees from the first talk. Prior to the commencement of the talk, food and drink were available and Father Olek a young Priest was the guest presenter for the evening.
Members of the Australian National Council being Brothers Lou Daily and Harry Muller travelled from Perth and Brother Geoff Young from Sydney to attend the talk and support the local Brothers in further developing their faith and the Catenian Association in Adelaide.
Father Olek gave a well-structured and informative talk and his commitment to the subject was very evident. Brother Rennie Louis a Brother of the Adelaide City Circle attended and used his skills with both video and photos to record the evening. All agreed that it was a great evening listening to Father Olek speaking about masculinity and what it means to be a man in today’s society. Following the talk, Brothers mingled with the guests and enjoyed fellowship with further food and drinks provided throughout the evening.
Details of the guests were taken and although a couple of prospects were identified it will be up to the Adelaide Brothers to pursue the all the attendees and encourage further membership within the Adelaide Circle and Group.
