P20 CATENIAN WIDOW’S MASS 2026

“Today the annual Mass and lunch was held at St Mary’s Cathedral for the wives of deceased Catenian Brothers. Ladies came from the following Circles: Avon Valley, Bouvard, Canning, Dianella, Fremantle, Joondalup, Liwara and City of Perth. It is special that the wives of deceased Catenian Brothers keep in touch and thank you to Pam for organising the Mass and lunch”- Liana Fitzpatrick

Pamela McKechnie, the wife of Brother Don McKechnie a Brother at the Dianella Circle is the originator of a special annual Mass for Widows of deceased Brothers in Province 20. In her words she advised that “that I have had the privilege of organising the annual Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral in May for Catenian Widows now for the past 22 years”. 

Pamela goes on to say “We had a wonderful turn-up for the annual Mass this year. We didn’t even have to send the police for Dot Colgan! Thanks to all who came and were able to celebrate the Mass and then enjoy the friendship around the table for the luncheon.

 It is great to see new people but sad when some of those who we often see are no longer with us. Hopefully the Secretaries keep in touch with the ladies in their Circles and let me know when there are changes with addresses and/or phone numbers as this year I could not contact several due to lack of information”.

Liana Fitzpatrick assisted Pamela with driving some of the widows to the Mass and lunch.
